About

UNEARTH ANCIENT TRADITIONS IN A MODERN SPEAKEASY

An intimate lounge at its core, Mezcalista evokes the moody allure of a modern speakeasy. Designed by Saladino Design Studios, our bar is a catacomb-like sanctuary dedicated to the ancient traditions of the revered spirit called mezcal.

Whether you arrive through the back of Como Como or via a discreet entrance on Miami Beach's iconic Washington Avenue, your journey begins with a striking wooden carving of a pre-Hispanic elder balancing a basket of agave plants. Inside, copper shelves glow with a curated library of mezcal and tequila, while beyond the foyer, an arched doorway draped in velvet leads you into a seductively lit lounge where leather-upholstered walnut banquettes are intricately carved with figures of eagles.

Meet our Visionary Founders

The Mezcalista concept was developed by Alan Drummond, Sven Vogtland, Gaby Chiriboga, and Scott Linquist, the founders of Miami’s popular Coyo Taco and 1-800-LUCKY. Executive Chef Scott Linquist has traveled to Mexico more than 30 times over the past two decades to research local recipes, cook in private homes, and guide culinary trips. Today, he develops dishes based on traditional techniques and knowledge of Mexican cuisine.
